Meet Mittens the Minke Whale!

Mitten's Story

Mittens the Minke Whale is a 20 foot life-size replica of a juvenile Minke Whale spotted off the coast of Maine on August 12, 2022. This curious whale captured our hearts, and we hope we can bring the magic of the experience to children all over New England... many who have never seen a whale! Mittens was named after the white arm bands on common Minkes, often referred to as 'Minke Mittens'.

Mittens is Available for Visits in RI, MA & CT

Classroom Visit Packages

Hands-on activities and fun games teach children about whales and ocean life in New England and around the world.

Each visit includes Free follow up curriculums for teachers to print for PreK-3 and grades 4-6.

40 Minute Marine Presentations are $200 for up to 20 kids, $100 per additional class. Free travel within RI.
